Q: What do I need for Europe?
A: Most European countries use the Euro.
Q: When should I exchange money?
A: We recommend waiting until you’re overseas to exchange money for the best rates of exchange. You can use the currency exchange at the airport or a local bank.
Q: Will my credit card work internationally?
A: Generally yes, check with with your card provider to inquire about any fees or limitations on usage.
Q: Will my debit card work?
A: Check with your bank to be sure.
Q: Do I need cash overseas?
A: Most major cities will have shops and restaurants who will be able to accept major credit cards. If you’re planning to visit a smaller village or a small family run shop, they may not be able to accept credit cards. It’s always a good idea to have some cash with you.
Q: Can I use travelers checks?
A: We don’t recommend using them.
Q: While cruising do ports of call accept USD?
A: Generally yes, Caribbean cruises and Panama Canal Cruises will all accept USD at the ports of call. European ports will generally only accept Euro.
Q: For European Tours, will my Tour Escort accept USD?
A: Yes, but they would prefer Euro if possible.
Q: I exchanged too much money, what do I do?
A: You can exchange the money back into USD at the Currency Exchange in the airport or at any bank.
Q: How does an on-board account work while cruising?
A: When you cruise you will establish an on-board account with a major credit card. All on-board purchases and your gratuities will be charged to this account. You will not need to carry cash while on-board. Your room key is your charge card. You will need this to make any purchases.
